Ruben Khan, MD is a highly academic general gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive and compassionate care. Having trained and practiced at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, University of Illinois Hospital and Health System, and University of Chicago Medicine, Dr. Khan has a wide breadth of experience with the most complex gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Khan welcomes patients experiencing any symptom of gastrointestinal disease. In addition to general gastroenterology and hepatology care, he has specific interests in functional gastrointestinal disorders and the gut-brain-microbiome axis which can lead to various gastrointestinal manifestations of neuropsychiatric disease.

Dr. Jahangir Khan is a prolific gastroenterologist and expert endoscopist with a well-established reputation and practice in the Rosedale area. He has been practicing for over 38 years with strong connections to patients, families, and physicians in the Rosedale community. He is a pioneer and was the first gastroenterologist to perform ERCP procedures at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital in the 1980s. Although Dr. Khan is a private practitioner, he has strong ties to the MedStar Health system. Dr. Khan has served as chief of the endoscopy committee at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital and is recognized by MedStar Health for over 35 years of service to the MedStar system.

Dr. Khan has a strong interest in prevention of colon cancer, detection and removal of colon polyps, and screening for Barrett’s esophagus. As an expert endoscopist, he often navigates very difficult colons with caution and expertise where other gastroenterology may have not been successful. Although he is accepting limited new patients to his practice at this time, he continues to serve his strong patient base with the highest level of care.
